Redeye comments on today's announcement that OncoZenge has filed a new medical use patent application with the Swedish Intellectual Property Office (PRV), aimed at extending the IP protection of BupiZenge into dental and oral pain relief. The application is at an early stage and the dental opportunity has not yet been addressed clinically. Even so, we view the filing as a sensible and cost-efficient step that strengthens the long-term IP estate around BupiZenge and adds to its attractiveness in ongoing and future licensing discussions.
