Or at least long enough to enjoy some further commercial progress when executing on the new strategic growth plan.

The order value is in the range of EUR2.1-2.5m, making it the company’s single largest order to date, as far as we can recall. This is obviously encouraging. But at this point we are not making any changes to our forecasts, as they already include a number of new coating system orders.

Coating Services was a bit sluggish as some customers still experienced component shortages, but since the end of the quarter, activity has picked-up. Impact Coatings’ outlook is clearly optimistic as they see a strong momentum within the fuel cell industry in Europe, China and the US. With new investments and presence in China, the company is better able to meet higher interest and demand from its clients. Following the Q4 report, we will probably only make minor changes to our forecasts.

The order is breaking new ground for Impact Coatings in a few different aspects. It’s a US based customer and by Coating Services’ standards, a large order (~SEK3.5m). Moreover, electrolysis is a fairly new area for Impact Coatings. We did not expect sizeable orders like this to materialize until maybe next year.

We remain optimistic about Impact Coatings’ prospects, as its technology is gradually gaining ground and recognition in the market. Our valuation is negatively impacted by rising interest rates, but we still see significant upside to our Base case fair value around SEK 12 per share.

Net sales were significantly lower Y/Y, as no system deliveries were made during the quarter. Considering the order backlog for system deliveries we will probably adjust our forecast for the current year downwards, while leaving longer-term assumptions unchanged.

Impact Coatings is accelerating its efforts and stepping up ambitions to grow the coating services business. Long-term ambition is to reach a balance between coating services and equipment sales of around 50/50.

2/11/2022 12:10:12 PM - Impact Coatings Q4’21: First impression - Redeye - Redeye comments on Impact Coatings Q4 report which only included minor deviations from our forecasts. Three coating systems were delivered according to plan, which generated the highest quarterly net sales in company history. Also, for the first time (as far as we can recall) EBITDA ended in positive territory. Operationally, the company is advancing with new investments in production capacity and the next generation coating systems. And with a solid balance sheet it has plenty of stamina. Currently our main concern is the order book for coating systems which is empty at the moment. Hence, we will have to adjust our near-term forecasts.
